Does anyone ever walk up to you and say something like, “OMG, did you know that you are tall?” What a question! What do you say in reply? Here are a couple of ideas…
Sometimes I use this one. “Shhhhhhhhhh! Don’t tell anyone, it’ll be our secret!!”
This one came from a comment on this site, and I love it!:
I try to be friendly and make a joke out of it. — A friend who is even taller taught me this and she never is sharp with people. My favorite is when someone makes a remark and she gives them a puzzled look, then looks down to her feet and back at them and says, “Oh, I’m not tall – it’s the shoes”. It works best when she is in flip flops.:-) — Jheri
Anyone got any more? Just scroll down and type. We’d love to hear yours!

Very nice site, and easy to navigate. My friend Kathy, with only a 35″ inseam, finds lots of things in this store. I can wear the tops with long sleeves, just not the pants. All the tall clothing sleeves are 3″ longer than the regular size, and just about everything, including t-shirts comes in “tall”. There are too many size charts for only one link, so just go to the main one Eddie Bauer and browse around in the category that is interesing to you. The clothes are well made and last.

Land’s End has a pretty good site. They carry tall sizes that are actually “tall”. The pants are up to 36” hemmed, but that is allowing almost 2″ for a hem. If you can sew a more narrow hem, you may get a 37″ inseam out of it. They will hem them for you, but only up to a 36” inseam. Both jeans and dressier pants are available. The link to the size chart (and the rest of their site) is below. Seeing the inseam chart is a little tricky, you have to scroll way down the page. They have some good sales occasionally, but extra long inseams don’t come cheap.

A comment came in from one of you that said that they had gotten a pair of LL Bean pants on EBay, and they had to hem them up a lot, so I decided to check out LL Bean. Of course, I went straight to the size chart, to which I am enclosing a link http://www.llbean.com/shop/guidePages/guideSizes/misses/measure_misses_inches.html Imagine…no inseam listed. So, how would you know about whether their “tall” sizes fit or not? If anyone has any more information about this or any other tall clothing manufacturer, please let me know…

Yesterday I sat down and did a little research. I checked out a couple of places I’ve heard of in the way of tall clothing for women. Not the ordinary “JC Penney’s”, or “Eddie Bauer” that most of us know about (although I have ordered some nice stuff from Eddie Bauer that did work). Anyway, today I’m checking out some I never have before. This first one, Metrostyle, did not impress me much. Usually I go straight to the size charts, and here is theirs below. Not even an inseam listed! Like all tall people wear the same size!
Metrostyle
The second one promises a little more. They advertise 37# inseams, but as you can see below in their link, very little selection…

So, folks, I guess we just have to keep looking for clothes! I’ll try to check out one or two places each day or two and keep you posted. Please save this site or subscribe to it so you can come back and tell me what you find!

“OMG! Did you know you were tall!” ”Did you play basketball?” “How’s the weather up there?” Are there actually good answers to these kind of questions? YES! And ways to find clothes that fit!
Hi. I am Beki, I am 5′ 11″, and I have always been tall. Well, I wasn’t born tall, but about 6th grade, I took a growth spurt, and from that point I was always taller than everyone, with a very long inseam! And I need the extra length in sleeves, shirts, sweaters, etc. Any one else tall out there? Any “tall” tales to tell? Share it here. I am looking for a way to make this site FUN! What else would you like to see here? Let me know how you feel about being tall, any tall clothing sites you like, or just general ideas to make it more fun by leaving a comment below. Just click on the title of any post (including this one), scroll to the bottom, and type!
